| Poncho kits, cozy knits, and Blanket club! Some New Shades Coming Your Way! | | |
|
It seems like we always take a walk on the dreamy side of life this time of year. The idea of snuggling into your partner, focusing on their breaths, and strolling down a golden path of crunchy leaves and shades of red is just too good to pass up! The world feels different this time of year, from the sweet scents to the crisp air. It makes us want to go into making overdrive by knitting, baking, writing poetry, and so much more!
Capture the delicate romance of the autumnal season with the Rainy Sunday Poncho! Designed by our own Bean, Adrienne Anila, this piece combines a wintery white with shades of purple, and we're just tickled to share it with you all! It snowed here this week, so bundling up is at the top of our list, and this could not have come at a better time! Reminiscent of sugar plums and frost-covered violets, this lovely poncho is perfect to wrap up in while the temperature drops!
Using Madelinetosh Tosh Sport yarn, indulge in the fade of Begonia Leaf, Dustweaver, and Paper to feel as cozy and chic as you deserve to this time of year! This poncho uses stitch techniques great for any adventurous beginner and beyond, using eyelets to create lovely diamond motifs while the rest of the poncho uses garter stitch for the ultimate soft and squishy project!

November is officially in full swing! The sky is an icy gray, the clouds are dense and white, and the snow is on its way! That's why we're so lucky to have had Amano Yarns as this month's pop up! With their knack for color, softness, and addictive squish, we're excited to bundle up and enjoy ourselves this season in their sumptuous strings!
|
|
Amano Yarns was founded in 2014 in the Peruvian Andes. Born from their passion for Andean culture and history of natural fibers and elements from their remote mountain range, Amano Yarns married this love with their enthusiasm for slow fashion. The storytelling behind their fibers and how they come to be is inspiring and unique, filled with rich history! Knowing no bounds for beauty, Amano Yarns thinks carefully about their storytelling, making each stitch you make that much more meaningful!
|
Inspired by the culture and landscapes in Peru, Amy Gunderson found herself designing three chunky knits to embody fall as well as the lush, the rigid, and the tranquil beauty of the country. Taking a note from Amano Yarns' story and how they operate, Amy put herself in their shoes, designing some gorgeous projects that tell tales of fall and how the seasons change the landscape as well as our moods and needs.
Are you interested in learning more about Amano Yarns and what they do? By checking out our official blog post on them, you can find all of the deets you desire like how they got their footing in the fiber industry, the challenges they've come across, and how they would decorate their yarn-themed parade float (which we wouldn't mind seeing come to fruition)!

New Shades of SweetGeorgia!
Imagine this: You're crafting up a shawl that you've had your eye on for quite some time. It's got loads of multicolored stripes in it and you bought full skeins to make sure you had enough yardage. Well, you had plenty of yardage and now that you're finished, you're stuck with varying lengths of scrap yarn! Ugh! What are you supposed to do with these? You don't want to unravel them to measure just how much you have left, but it's going to nettle you for the next few months.
Did we make you anxious with that one? Sorry! We totally understand the frustration of being left with a mysterious three-quarters skein of yarn, but that's what SweetGeorgia is here to remedy! SweetGeorgia Tough Love Sock Party of Five packs are perfectly curated little palettes available in a fade of shades or pack of multis to help you on your colorwork journey! And the best part? We got in new shades to choose from, expanding their already gorgeous palette! Finally - the perfect bite-sized pack of yarn to finish up that shawl with minimal yardage left over. Talk about a score!
Each pack of SweetGeorgia Tough Love Sock Party of Five comes filled with fingering-weight fibers (try saying that five times fast!) adding up to 525 yards total (105 yards per skeinette). Made out of a blend of Merino wool and Nylon, you will get a soft and squishy skein with the perfect amount of stretchiness and bounce to it, lending itself beautifully to drapey projects and socks especially!

Bundle Up with Blanket Club!
Brrrrr! Have the winter chills gotten to you yet? We got a freak cold snap this week and we gotta say, we were NOT prepared to be shoveling snow over the weekend! We busted out the hot chocolate and bundled up in some beautiful blankets, and we're excited to share those designs with you all!
The Jimmy Beans Wool 2021 Malabrigo Blanket Club is the perfect way to have a project on your needles or hooks all year-long. Running from January to December, these blankets use the gorgeous shades of Malabrigo Rios to make a cozy, squishy blanket fit for royalty! To keep things accessible, we recommend this design to any adventurous beginner and beyond for both knit and crochet!

Shelley's Choice: AKA beautiful blues! This colorway reminds us of lazy summer afternoons hanging out with friends at the beach. Shimmering, calm, ebbing tides and a sapphire sky with wispy clouds is the perfect reason to celebrate with a little bit of making! This option is like the picturesque coast of the warmer months without that well-known panic of finding the perfect lounging spot on the shore before anyone else swoops in to nab it! Shelley is ultra-talented, picking out the varying shades of blue for this project as well as designing the crochet blanket (square motifs).

Jenise's Choice: A vision in vibrance! Remember those warm days with family when you have overflowing, sugary drinks and barbecue celebrations? Yeah, that's this blanket personified! This fruit bowl of a blanket has slices of orange, handfuls of blueberries, bites of honeydew, and a whole bunch of grapes! Satisfying to craft up, this blanket is the perfect bite of summer without the sunburns and sweat (nobody wants those, yowch)! Jenise, the color curator for this version of the project, also designed the knit version (triangle motifs) - talk about a rockstar!
|
|
|
Each version of this project comes with two printed postcards with the instructions for both the knit and crochet blankets, a full skein of Malabrigo Rios yarn, and one coordinating stitch marker! If you have any questions concerning the colorway you chose, including wanting to change it to another option featured, please contact our CS team either by calling us at 1 (775) 827-9276 or emailing at support@JimmyBeansWool.com.

Moody Hues!
Do you ever have those bouts of creativity where it feels like you can't focus on anything else but your craft? Where every move you make is a move wasted because you aren't spending it drawing, knitting, crocheting, or weaving? It's agonizing! That's how we feel when we get a new skein of Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light in our grasp. The colors are gorgeous and striking, the hues are endless, and the possibilities with this fingering weight know no bounds!
Part of the joy in Madelinetosh yarn is being able to craft your own palette of shades for whatever project you're working on at the time. It's like mixing up a palette of paint without the mess (unless you have a particularly naughty, or should we say, knotty, cat). Matching your mood or the current trends has never been easier than with the expansive shade range Madelinetosh offers.
Did you know you can filter your yarn results by color? By doing this, you can curate your palette at the speed of light! This fall, make with rich reds, marvelous mustards, and beautiful browns! Just like the changing leaves, swap out your summer threads for something a little cozier and apt for the weather! Fall is like a neutral lover's paradise, and we're so excited to share our collection with you guys!
Are ya looking to make a specific project instead of just splurging on yarn? We understand that feeling very well. If you click on the "Project Ideas" tab, you can find kits using the yarn you're already looking at, making your job of hunting for a project that much easier!

Fall for This Namaste Sale!
|
Whew! After last week's debacle, it looks like we were finally able to get our packages back from that pesky Grinch fellow! As upset as we were with his antics, we can't help but feel bad for the poor guy - maybe he just really wanted to make a scarf for himself this winter season. We're not sure how chilly he gets with all that green fur on his body, but we just can't excuse how rude it was to destroy our beautiful Christmas set up (even though his dog was pretty dang cute)!
|
As if that wasn't exciting enough, we have even more great news, everyone! Craftvent is officially shipping out THIS. WEEK. Talk about retrieving those gifts just in time, huh? Our Production Princess, Sam, is giving each package a good, warm hug before it gets sent out so we can extend that coziness to you all this holiday season!
We know this year was a wild one, but as makers, we can find a bit of cheer in the most hectic of places - you could even say we're tight-knit, hehe!

Project On Our Needles
Dawn's Autumn Bean Stitch Pumpkin
Fall is in full swing! Our Bean, Dawn, got to work by crocheting this super cute plump pumpkin! We always get so sad throwing out (or donating) our pumpkins when we're finished with them for Halloween, but Dawn rejected that idea entirely! Why deal with the mess and fuss (and, let's be real, the total grossness) of squishy pumpkins when you could just crochet them and have them always in their prime? We have to admit, we're a little jealous of her crocheting skills and we may have to whip up a few in our spare time to keep the autumn spirit going all year round!
