Inspired by the hankering to travel we all felt during lockdown, designer Georgia Farrell looked back on her past voyages and used them as inspiration to take an adventure around the world for this KAL! Starting April 15, together you will visit new destinations with a textured square pattern based on architecture from each location.

Georgia has seven suggested designs for projects to use the squares: large and medium blankets and runners, and three options of pillow cushions. To keep you on your toes, the locations of each release are secret. However, Georgia will provide clues leading up to the reveal of where you will travel to next! Each project features three different Rowan Pure Wool Superwash Worsted colorways.

Celebrate Local Yarn Store Day!

The flowers are blooming, the bees are buzzing, and we've been basking in all the sunshine we've been getting recently. Because it is our first spring in our new space, we've recently discovered that our new favorite thing is to open up our retail doors to soak in the warm air! Have you visited our shop recently?! It's been fantastic getting to browse all of our yarn and soak in the beautiful spring air.

To celebrate Local Yarn Store Day on April 30, we are welcoming you to come enjoy an outdoor Makers Market as well as open shopping in our THREE fiber-filled warehouses! For the market, we invited some of our favorite local makers who offer a wide variety of high-quality handmade goods!

The vendors include: Beautifully Felt, Lisa Michele Studios, Munley Manor, Naluknits, Burl Theory, Cross Peak Clay Designs, Leon Dragon, To A Tema, and Mountain Love Pottery.

In addition to the market, each customer in attendance will receive a yarn ball with a love note inside. Each love note will reveal a special prize! You can win anything from a stitch marker to a della Q Maker's Weekender stuffed with goodies, a Gnome Club Subscription, or our 2022 Craftvent Calendar! The event will run during our normal store hours of 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. at our new location, 891 Trademark Drive in Reno.

Cascade's River Walk Cowl

No matter the time of year, one of the best things to do here in Northern Nevada is to take a walk along the Truckee River and enjoy the sounds of rushing water and take in the beautiful scenery! This simple but classic cowl pattern designed by Shannon Dunbabin reminds us of these beautiful strolls around the river. Worked in the round, this cowl is knit using two skeins of the soft and snuggly Cascade Baby Alpaca Chunky. Plus, the knits and purls of this cowl are friendly to knitting novices!
