When we first heard Lantern Moon was coming back, we were just short of throwing an actual party! While we know they didn't come back exclusively for our big 20th birthday it sure does feel like it!! This is the best surprise gift we could ever get! Their needles, hooks, and accessories have been a staple to our maker bags for years, so we were so sad to see them go. But now they are back with the help of our friend's over at Knitter's Pride!

Dinna Fash, Outlander is Near

Droughtlander: The desperately long stretch of time between seasons of Outlander, marked by binges of often disappointing replacement shows followed by yet another re-watch of The Wedding episode from season one.

The tide is turning for us soon because Droughtlander is nearly over! We are a little less than a month away from the return to Fraser Ridge and we cannot wait! To celebrate the return of Jamie and Claire to our screens we knew we had to do a MKAL (mystery knit-a-long).

The Snow and Ashes Shawl pattern, designed by Rachel Roden, was inspired by her favorite Outlander characters, Marsali and Fergus. Suitable for intermediate/adventurous beginner knitters, this pattern features stripes, slipped stitches, and mosaic colorwork resulting in an intricate-looking shawl!

The adventure starts March 6, when the Snow and Ashes MKAL pattern will be released as a series of clues on Rachel's Ravelry page. Included in this kit is specially hand-dyed Tosh Merino Light Yarn from Madelinetosh, exclusive to this MKAL, a celtic-insipired wood shawl closure, and a download for the free pattern!

Way to Go Arroyo!

If these last two years have taught us anything, it's that knitting by yourself sure can get lonely, which is why we've taken to so many KALs as of late! It's a way for our knitting community to come together and work on a project together and is like knitting with hundreds of friends from all around the world!! That is why we are so excited that Malabrigo is kicking off the year with their Arroyo KAL!

For this knit-along, we'll create the "La Mondiola" Wrap in Malabrigo Arroyo, a stunning rectangular shawl designed by team Malabrigo specially for this event!

Arroyo is a super-soft, sport-weight yarn made out of 100% Superwash Merino wool, making it a total fan favorite! Along with the yarn needed for this KAL you'll also need US Size 7 (4.5mm) 32" circular needles.

Allison's La Mondiola Wrap

When our Bean, Allison, saw the pattern for the Malabrigo Arroyo KAL, she knew she couldn't wait for it to begin and had to get one on her needles ASAP! We just had to share her finished La Mondiola Wrap because it turned out so beautiful! Created by Malabrigo's design team specifically for this event, this shawl uses the super-soft, sport-weight strands of Malabrigo Arroyo to create the stunning chevron design. Allison has us convinced we need to make one for ourselves!
