The only thing we can think of that would be sweeter than getting candy this season is getting candy AND yarn (which we consider eye-candy for makers, hehe)! Say bone-jour to our newest, sweet treat - a spooky spin on our traditional yarn bouquets! These make for the perfect way to get into the Halloween spirit by giving us something to craft up in the traditional hair-raising hues of the season!

Each Halloween Skull BOOquet contains the following: - Two skeins of Malabrigo Rios yarn in a purple and green colorway as well as an orange and black option.
- Two Halloween-themed stitch markers.
- A handful of fruity and gummy candy - no melted chocolate for this skull!
All of which sits snuggly in a large skull-shaped bowl and looks suspiciously like some brains - eek!!
|
Use it as a yarn bowl while you craft up your project, and then reuse it as a candy bowl for trick-or-treaters this Halloween (or, of course, as normal home decor for any creepy connoisseurs out there!)!
Please note: This kit does not include a pattern, hooks, or needles, so we suggest keeping cozy with one of the following projects!

We've been eagerly awaiting this day, huddled together, just watching the hours tick by before we could announce it! And finally, as if the clock has struck midnight in our favorite fairy tale, we can exclaim with glee - Ahem. PayPal is now an option for payment of Jimmy's 2019 Craftvent Calendar!! Just in time, too, because we're only 44 days away from cast-on day!
Have you been able to decide which colorway is your fav? The Knit Craftvent Calendar, Spirits of the Season, was designed by Amy Gunderson and is going to treat us with fuzzy stripes of mohair! Mirroring the warm, comfy feeling of the first sip of some (much-needed) holiday spirits on a cold day, Mulled Wine and Hot Toddy are keeping us cozy this winter! Available in two colorways:

The Crochet Craftvent Calendar, Hit the Slopes, was also designed by Amy Gunderson! Like our skis carving out stripes in the powdery snow as we travel down the mountainside, this shawl features wavy stripes in two beautiful colorways, Mount Rose, and Vienna! This kit is perfect for the adventurous beginner crocheter and beyond. We're excited to gear up and get hooked! Available in two colorways: - Mount Rose: A gradient of dark and light purple to gray.
- Vienna: Cool gray and blue with pops of orange.

It's a Pumpkin Party!
We're just over halfway through October, and we have to admit... We've been procrastinating on going to our local pumpkin patch this year! We're so busy preparing costumes and parties (and, of course, binging our favorite spooky movies), that we almost forgot the most important thing - pumpkins! But pumpkins go bad after a while, and it's always so upsetting tossing out the now-stinky squash (or, is it a gourd? Check out our blog as we settle this debate!)! In a last-ditch effort to avoid that bitter goodbye (especially after all the work of picking out THE PERFECT ONE), we spoke a wish into existence:
"We wish for an eternal pumpkin - one that won't wilt or droop; a perky pumpkin that looks freshly picked, vine and all!"
Amy Gunderson, the headmistress of knit-craft, took our eager wishes and tossed them into her cauldron. She stirred and stirred, mulling over how to prepare said wishes as the concoction began to thicken. She thought of ways to trick us, to make us wail and mourn for our project-less needles and decoration-less homes! Oh, how wicked this could be! As she was lost in thought, the bubbles started to vanish - her soupy mixture had wound itself into a neat little ball of yarn! Surprising everybody - she decided to opt for giving us a treat this year (we're still on our toes for any potential trickery, though)!

Roll to Decide Your Fate!
You feel a chill slither down your spine. Glancing over your shoulder, your eyes catch a strangely familiar glint of blue in the darkness - your blood runs cold. There, in the inky blackness, you spot it! Reanimated, as per the name would suggest, is The Banderzombie Kit!! Gathering your courage, you take a hesitant step toward the kit, letting the curiosity wash over you. The mystery that these two skeins offer is almost too much to bear; you can't help but reach out and grab it!
Inspired by our favorite suspenseful Netflix Original series, The Banderzombie Kit takes you on a thrilling, multiple-ending adventure! Using a die as your guide, roll to decide your fate and lead your needles on an adventure that will ultimately end with an ultra-unique and squishy scarf!
|
Each kit contains: - Two skeins (460 yards) of Zombie Yarns Corpse - a 100% cotton base in a striking, hand-dyed blue hue with splatters of black, red, and green.
- A 6-sided die.
- A pattern for your journey by Lorna Miser.
Remember, you may be in charge of picking up the kit, but the kit is in charge of you (or at least your pattern!).

Not-So-Bone-Chilling Books!
Not a fan of scary stories? Bristol Ivy and Making have two new books that start shipping out this weekend - no ghosts, ghouls, OR goblins here! While Halloween is exciting (and for some of us, it's our favorite holiday), October is also a month of getting cozy, making cardigans, and sipping on some warm cider!
New from Bristol Ivy, Knitting Outside the Box: Drape & Fold is a collection of six knitted patterns that go above and beyond by exploring new and interesting ways you can knit up a project! Exploring how things, well, drape and fold on the body, Bristol Ivy challenges the typical construction of your knitwear with unique patterns for three cardigans, two cowls, and a jumper!
Making No. 8 / Forest is a book that explores the depths of the woods in rustic and beautiful ways! This issue touches on needlework with options for adding beads, as well as a large section focused solely on knitwear and sewing. The woodsy motifs found throughout the book are complemented by gorgeous photography and in-depth instructions for each project!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. This year, Jimmy Beans is proudly partnering with two non-profit organizations, BreastCancer.org and Knitted Knockers, to help bring awareness to this disease and help those who fight it. The reach and damage breast cancer is capable of is not only scary, but it also hits close to home for us, as our own HR liaison, Mindy, has personally battled with it.
Our mission is to provide BreastCancer.org and Knitted Knockers with as much support as possible. $5 from every kit sold of both the knit and crochet Breast Cancer Cowls, $5 from our Lorna's Laces String Quintet in Marimba (with the free pattern of the Tenderness Shawl included), $3 from every I Love Handles Petal Wrist Ruler, and $2.50 from the Namaste Pink Oh Snaps will be donated to BreastCancer.org.
This year, we've also created the Jimmy Beans exclusive: Knocker Blockers - a knit blockers kit in a palette of pinks and purples. $5 from each pack will be donated to Knitted Knockers and comes with a free pattern for the Tenderness Shawl.
Please join us in the fight against breast cancer. Together, we can make a difference.
